It'll turn on and stuff, and all the buttons work it's just... Not responding when I touch it. The touch screen at least lol. I have it in rice, but I HAVE to have a phone for school tomorrow (7:00) morning. I had it in there for about 39 minutes and it worked for about 10 then froze again. Could the rice for 8-9 hours work or is there a quicker way?

However, I'm not sure what repercussion this change might have. I currently have two laptops, one printer and one smartphone connected to my home wireless network. If I change my dynamic IP address for a static one, would I cause any problems? Will my devices be able to connect normally to the Wi-Fi?

I have been a sprint customer for 19 years. They said I can buy the phone but it requires a data plan to work and would have to switch my plan. Now I have a Archos 43 internet tablet and it work find with out data and I get free Wi-Fi, so I decided to hold off on upgrading my phone and educate myself a little more on how these phone work and why it requires data to work when it already has Wi-Fi capability. I went to Samsung.com and got a hold of there customer service to ask about there smartphone and how it works. I asked the customer service rep if the phones voice and text will work without data. He said yes, I then asked if the camera and camcorder will still work without data. He said yes. Than I asked if you can still download movies and games from your computer using your USB cord without using data. He said yes. He also told me that not all but most apps work with out data. He said the phone was designed for the everyday consumer and the business man. You can deactivate the data and just use the Wi-Fi , but will only work in Wi-Fi hot spots. So, I asked him why I can't buy the phones for my family without data plan. He said he is not sure and I need to ask my provider. I called Blackberry asked the same questions and got the same answer!&#13;
I called Sprint back and told them that I contacted Samsung and Blackberry and told them the features we are wanting and if it require data to work, the they said no and explained to me what was required to run on data. I told them my family and I really have no interest in getting the internet. You can disable the data and sell me the phone with my grandfather plan. They said they will not sell me the phone without the data plan. I asked them if I bought the phone from somewhere else will they activate my phone they said not without a data plan. I told them the things I want to use on the phone like 5.0 mp camera &amp; great camcorder, being able to download movies and games from my computer, calender and check list that don't require data ... Your telling me we can't have these things without paying for a data plan! Why am I paying $30 per phone more a month! So, you are telling me that I do not have the rights to buy this phone using your service?&#13;
&#13;
I can understand if the company explains to the consumers what they get with the data plan and let them choose if they want to purchase the plan! But for other consumers who whats the phone for non data use and is on a limited budget should have the right to buy the phone without changing there plan! &#13;
&#13;
If your cell phone company is telling you the phone wont work without the data plan they are lying. I have call the manufacture of those phones and got the truth! Plus I have an Archos internet tablet and it runs apps, movies wi-fi just fine without data!  &#13;
We as consumers need to speak out and stop get overcharged for things we don't use or want! Yes there are phones that do not require data and but are outdated and have very limited choices!  And as I have found out the smartphones also work without date!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!&#13;
&#13;
If you are running into a similar problem please respond!

She wants a smartphone and likes the Sensation. The only problem is that I don't know what countries the unlocked version will work in. If so, will she just be able to swap sims and be done with it? Thanks!

I use it entirely as a pda the way it was intended except for I do NOT need internet at all( absolutely ridiculous, who want's to try to read your emails on a 2"x2" screen, or watch a streaming movie??)- I purchased it without a data plan and just went with the per megabyte deal that if I did use data it would cost me additional (like 5$ for 3 pages). I did claim it once or twice on insurance(accidental destruction) no problem and Assuion sent me another asap.  One of the sell features the manager used to convince me at the time was that it did NOT need a data plan to function, and it seems according to Verizon that it is the only one that didn't.&#13;
&#13;
Now the bad news Assurion has no more available, and it took a drop in the toilet bowl last month. I put it on the defrosters to my truck and dried it out fine, and it worked ok up till now with progressively worse little weird bugs since then, and now my phone only works on speaker, I cannot hear other people otherwise. Besides all the buttons are worn off on both edges due to "holster wear"- I have been dreading replacing it and have delayed as Verizon has a new data only plan for all new smart phones @ 30$ a month, which I cannot afford by my budget. I am already paying 120$ a month for a family plan , my wife and I, it's our only phone.&#13;
&#13;
I tried to make an Assurion claim yesterday and after 2 hours of arguing with them and Verizon on the phone they gave me no other options. I REALLY DON"T want a separate pda, then a phone, and I REALLY don't want a Data plan ( it's like forcing some one to buy a/c on their vehicle in Alaska and charging rent for it to boot). I would have canceled Assurion long time ago if I had known for sure but someone there (I called), told me a year ago that .." we will just have to give you something that matches and Verizon will just have to waive the data plan", but now they all have changed their tune.&#13;
&#13;
I told them that they were in "breach of contract" as they could not provide me with an equally function device as they promised as according to Verizon all the new smart-phones need data to function, and I wanted all of my insurance $$$ refunded from my last claim- 2 years, boy you should have heard all the different semantic language sidestepping they all tried to get out of it, but I wouldn't let them, as "EQUALLY FUNCTIONING DEVICE" was the keywords and nothing else works(FUNCTIONS) without data.&#13;
&#13;
I have seen some Motorla q's on Ebay  but Assurion will NOT reimburse me if I buy one, and how long will they continue to be available? and Verizon won't budge on their data only @ 30$/month.- Verizon did refund me 30$ for Assurion fees but it should have been more like 250$( I am still fighting for more,good luck right!?). Verizon is the ONLY provider that works in my area to boot! we have tried all the rest. &#13;
&#13;
I absolutely need to be able to dock to my p/c at work, calendar events through outlook, run lists and spread sheets such as pocket word, pdf, excel,etc.&#13;
&#13;
Any suggestion?

Any suggestions? I am locked into a Sprint contract for another year. I hate it. I presently have a Samsung Intercept phone and it is pure garbage. Frustrating beyond belief. This phone is a scam! Beware! Now I have to buy a working phone immediately. What should I get? It has to be compatible with Sprint.

HOW DO I GET THEM BACK?</title><link>http://www.notebookproblems.com/en/Smartphones/I-LOST-100-PICTURES-ON-MY-PHONE-HOW-DO-I-GET-THEM-BACK/_81</link><description>I had 125 pictures on my phone that i wanted on my microsd card.  I transferred 8 pictures from my net10 t401g phone to a micro sd card manually (each one i had to select and click "move to memory card", and 'move here').  Then, i selected the rest all at once, (except for 1, which i wanted to keep), and clicked move to memory card- NOW HERE"S THE PROBLEM, FOR THIS MICRO SD CARD, I HAD TO KEEP PUSHING INTO MY PHONE FOR MY PHONE TO RECOGNIZE IT, AND ANY SLIGHT MOVEMENT IN PUSHING THE CARD CAUSED IT TO BE 'REMOVED'.  SO I WAS MOVEING THE REST OF THE PICRTURES AND AN MY ICON SAID, "MEMORY CARD REMOVED", WHICH STOPPED THE MOVING PROCESS, SO I PUSHED IT IN AGAIN AND REDID THE MOVING PROCESS AND IT SAID "MOVED".  &#13;
&#13;
now, i thought i had moved them, since the photos floder on my phone was empty except for the one picture i wanted to keep.  &#13;
&#13;
oddly however, my memory status said that i still had 41668 KB in images, and 5224KB in available space, so i selected that and it gave me the 2 floder options" photos" and "doownloaded images". Photos had 300KB (from my picture that i wanted to keep ) and downloaded images had 0KB.  So, i was wondering where my phone got the number "41668 KB" since i only had "300KB" and my photos folder was empty except for the one picture.  So i put my memory card in the phone again and it said I ONLY HAD THE EIGHT PICTURES I TRANSFERRED MANUALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I PLUGGED THE CARD IN THE COMPUTER AND ONLY 8 PICTURES SHOWED UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  WHAT'S GOING ON???&#13;
&#13;
so, i was INSANELY confused and i have come to a conclusion:&#13;
&#13;
the 100+ pictures i transferrd at once are hidden in my phone since i have that memory space filled.  Also, i know that memory space is filled, since i tested it and it only let me take 15 picture, all adding up to the available space number, 5224KB.  &#13;
&#13;
So, I'm thinking about buying this usb cord:&#13;
&#13;
http://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-Data-Sync-Cable-Cord-Net10-Samsung-T401g-T401-/330623860639?pt=PDA_Accessories&amp;hash=item4cfab7bf9f#ht_3006wt_1037&#13;
&#13;
and hoping that when i connect the phone to the computer, they will show up. WILL THIS WORK?? SHOULD I BUY IT???? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME, MY PARENTS ARE REALLY MAD RIGHT NOW SINCE SOME Of THE PICS WERE FOR THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was wondering what can I get for $60 or less between now up to end of November. The problem is that I know very little about the smartphone market and what's hot recently.&#13;
&#13;
Initially I was interested at the Sony Xperia PLAY since I can upgrade to that for free, but I thought I don't need a phone for games since maybe I can save up for a PS Vita itself. &#13;
&#13;
Then I noticed Best Buy offers Samsung Infuse 4G for $49.99 which is a great price for a well-reviewed phone. This is the phone that I consider the best choice today. Its rival Samsung Galaxy S II 4G is supposedly a better phone, but it's not worth paying $150 more for it right now.&#13;
&#13;
Are there better options than the Infuse 4G? What I need help with is whether or not I should jump at it right now or wait a little longer until end of the year, see if there's something better come up in the market.&#13;
&#13;
Thanks.

Only problem is both the Galaxy Nexus and iPhone 4S sound really good. I've used both Android and iOS before and also have purchased apps for both OS' (android- had my phone stolen w/ no insurance and had an iPod touch stolen as well)&#13;
&#13;
I dig the LTE speeds and the customization that Android has, but I like the simplicity of iOS. Plus I've had a few issues when I had Verizon TBolt when phone would randomly shut off. But I also am not a big fan that if I get the iPhone 4S that I can't have a phone call and surf the web at the same time.&#13;
&#13;
Ugh.. this is a really tough call for me. Can somebody help?
BTW, There are many reasons why I like and dislike both platforms/phones I just haven't listed them all yet.

I was possibly considering a cheap smartphone. I like this phone. I can get it on 3 for £50, with an extra £10 top up. Problem is, I don't want to go onto 3 really, cos I like Tesco. Should I? Please help! If I buy it with tesco, it's £100ish.

I am upgrade eligible and want to get rid of this Blackberry for the Iphone(RIM has not kept up with the smartphone market). Only problem is that the 4s comes out on the 14th and I am torn on which to get. I know about all the upgrades of the 4s(internally) but are they worth the $100 that the 4s is going to be over the(also new) 8g Iphone 4? AT&amp;T never had a 8g Iphone before and it's going to be available for $99 on the 14th also. With the Iphone 5 coming out in a year from now probably, I am leaning towards just getting the Iphone 4(8g) on the cheap now and just wait for the Iphone 5 next year. The smallest 4s is going to be 16g and the Iphone 4 16g was only reduced to $150(was $200). If you want to compare 16g to 16g, its worth it then to spend the extra $50 and get the 4s right? But dont know if I'll need the 16g. Ahhhhhhh. What should I do?
