Macbook Pro vs. HP Laptop?


I only have $500 saved up right now and i need to get a new laptop because i have a notebook and its just horrible now. I really want a mac but if i do get it its going to be the basic model they have which is $1500 in the end. But there is a 12 month period for me to pay it. OR i could get an HP laptop with a Bigger Processor and more memory for around $900.. I will be using it for school so English and Art will be the main use of it. I hear a Mac is great with Editing...and i also think it would be good if i buy an External hard drive since it will only have 4GB of memory. That is if i choose the Mac. But i would like some opinions please.

Macbookproblems 		This is Apple MacBook Pro MC721LL/A an AWESOME laptop. I had an Asus G50vt before I switched to mac and I am very happy I did. It loads up EXTREMELY fast and the interface is easy to use and navigate. I love everything about it. The battery life is amazing!!!! Unplugged it runs for 8-9 hours without being recharged or anything. I am a college student so that is perfect for me. I just whip it out in the morning pack it into my backpack and go. I don't have to worry about the charger or anything. My only regret, is that I didn't switch to Macs earlier. Fast start up, fast processor, long battery Life (just for emphasis) and beautiful design. Truly amazing.

Macbookproblems 		I think if want to use your laptop in your study purpose, you can buy HP. Because buying HP laptop within your budget you get good processor and hard drive.But you said you are already using HP laptop through school, so you can also buy Macbook. HP also provide good support in editig. I am using HP, so i suggest you to buy HP.

Macbookproblems 		In terms of economy and saving money. HP will be better if you upgrade the processor along with ram and hard drive, you could make it as fast as a mac which will be much cheaper. In terms of editing, windows is as good as macs, macs are easier to operate so thats why people recommend macs for software editing. If you are not a tech savvy then macs will be better for you. If you want a cheaper macbook pro, I strongly recommend you shop online like amazon.com because you could save $200 or even more on your mac, rather than spending at apple store. Its much cheaper online!
