Laptop problems. The fuse keeps blowing in my laptop power cable?


The fuse blew in my Dell laptops power cable, so I replaced it with a new 5A fuse (same as the old one) About an hour later the new fuse blew. Is this a problem with the cable or is it a problem within the laptop?
The laptop was plugged into a 4 way extension lead which has got a lamp and a phone charger plugged in and still all work fine.

johnrobert 		Could actually be a problem with the wall socket, if the circuits in your house are faulty or unstable then you might have some spikes in power. You might want to check that before you start damaging other stuff as well.

But yes, it could be the power supply brick (i doubt the problem would be with the laptop itself) and those are pretty expensive i know, maybe you could test it to make sure it isn't sending out too many amps or something. I think Dell is around 19.5V and 4.5A
