If you can track down an online manual for the model laptop you have, you should be able to find a diagram of the keyboard shortcuts. It sounds like you've turned off the touch pad mouse. There is a key marked "Fn" (in blue) and a picture (on an other key) of a sort of square with two small rectangles down the bottom of it (again in blue) It may have a line through it as well. Hopefully my description helps you find the keys that you need and hopefully, that is all you need to do. Otherwise, you can obtain a copy of the drivers and re-install the touchpad driver and any software that comes with it.

First use external USB Mouse to get yourself working.

Later on go to Control Panel, Mouse and look into settings if you have done something wrong.

Still if you feel that everything is fine, try re-installing the mouse pad drivers.

Sounds like you accidentally hit the mouse pad disable button, and that is why its not working. Look around the palm rest and the around the mouse pad for it since that is where it usually is located.
